Thank you Sifu Clear for this great video. I finally understand some of the intricate applications of some of the Tai Chi moves like Brushing Knee. It would be greatly appreciated if instructions can be provided for defense against round house kick and a kick to the upper body / head.
Start by doing the same drills in this lesson and in Tai Chi Lesson 8 with those kicks and any other strikes (punches, elbows, knees, kicks, etc.)
The principle is the same. It’s just a matter of drilling it over and over with all kinds of different strikes from a variety of different people until no matter what someone brings you simply slip softly out of the way.
Once you’ve gotten as much as you can out of these lessons the next step would be the Combat Tai Chi series. Vol 1: Apparent Opening in particular has a lot on slipping and it also has some specific things on dealing with kicks.
